Though she’s keeping the release date under wraps, Swifties are betting on October 13 — the date listed on her website as when orders will begin shipping. The singer’s website also had a countdown timer, which expired on Tuesday night.

Swift appeared in a clip with her NFL star boyfriend Kelce and his brother Jason, on their New Heights podcast, where she opened a briefcase with “TS” printed on it, which contained the album with its cover blurred out.

In the clip, she told the brothers, “So I wanted to show you something, this is my brand new album, The Life Of A Showgirl.”

Niall McDaid, a Taylor Swift superfan from Derry/Londonderry, said, “I am very excited for the new album as I have been enjoying each album of hers recently more than the last. She seems to be on top of her game at the minute, and hopefully this album that trend is still going.”

Swift is known for dropping Easter Eggs to her fans, anticipating her next move.

“There was one Easter egg on her TikTok. She took a video in the stadium before the concert started, and she was walking past a section of the stadium which is labelled A12, and of course, this was announced on August 12, at 12:12, so that was probably an Easter egg towards this,” Niall, 22, said.

This attention to hidden details has fans even more intrigued about the meaning behind the album’s title.

“I’m super excited about the name of the album, as it seems to be a theme she’s been starting to play with. In a couple of songs such as I Can Do It With a Broken Heart where she has described dealing with heartbreak and difficult emotions whilst also at the same time being expected to be performing and putting on a show at the best of her abilities for everyone at all times and not letting that visual the public have of you be tainted.”

“So whilst I think this album will be more pop heavy than previous albums such as The Tortured Poets Department , there may be underlying themes which suggest the hardships that can come with a life as a performer.”

The Life Of A Showgirl is Swift’s first album since she announced she had regained control over her back catalogue and purchased the rights to all of her concert films, music videos, album art, and photography, as well as her unreleased songs.

Molly Mullin, a Taylor Swift fan living on the North Coast, said, “I do not know what kind of music to expect from this album; she has covered so many genres. Maybe after The Tortured Poets Department, we will see some upbeat and reflective songs.”

“I think the album name is amazing and it makes me feel like it will touch on many things that have happened during her career with rumours, scandals, and also the positives of her career, like the Eras Tour and the dedicated fan base she has built up throughout the years,” added Molly, 23.

Her 12th album follows 2024’s The Tortured Poets Department, which broke Spotify’s record for most-streamed album in a day, and comes after Swift’s billion-dollar, record-breaking Eras Tour, which ended in December.

She made history last summer when the tour became the highest-grossing of all time, and Swift became the first solo artist to perform at London’s Wembley Stadium eight times on a single tour.

Swift is best known for her songs, Love Story, Shake It Off and 22.
